Divya Singh (b. 1995) is a Noida-based visual artist whose practice primarily centers on painting. She holds a BFA from the College of Art, New Delhi, and an MFA from Shiv Nadar University, Uttar Pradesh. Her work profoundly engages with Time, exploring themes of isolation, experience, memory, and mortality through a poetic lens. Singh's artistic language is multifaceted, integrating photography, writing, and cinema alongside painting. These diverse elements coalesce most distinctly in her artist books and the found imagery that often accompanies her exhibited paintings and other media.
Singh's inaugural solo exhibition, Notes for Tomorrow, premiered in 2021 with Shrine Empire. Her extensive exhibition history includes notable showings such as Latitude 28 Presents Inscapes In Search of a place (2023) at Bikaner House, curated by Premjish Achari; Legal Alien (2022), curated by Meera Menezes; and Simulacrum (2022), curated by Arushi Vats, both also at Bikaner House. Her work has been showcased internationally at events like Artissima International Fair of Contemporary Art, Turin, Italy (2021), and Donde Lo Oscuro Sangra Hacia La Luz with Isla Colectivo, Bogotá, Colombia (2020).
Singh is a recipient of the Space 118 Fine Art Grant (2021) and was recognized with the "Young Artist of the Year Award" (2022) at the inaugural HELLO! India Magazine’s ‘India Art Awards’. She participated in Foreign Objekt’s Posthuman Lab (2022) as an Artist Research Resident, developing projects like Tachyon (2021) and the ongoing Terminarch/Ender (2022), both accessible via the Posthuman Art Network. Her work has also been highlighted in GQ India as one of "10 Contemporary artists you should know about right now" (2022).
