The Carene is a fountain pen that is "a little bit different" with its boat-inspired looks and a nib that supposedly looks like the bow of a ship (but to me looks like a fingernail). The designers have dared to make something that doesn't just appeal to the mainstream and I respect them for it. In terms of performance, the pen has its quirks too with a smooth 18k nib with a grind that isn't a run-of-the-mill blob of iridium.
If you want a pen that has a little bit of personality even though this is a standard converter pen, take a look at the Carene. You probably won't ever see something similar for a long time.
