Watch side quest of Final Fantasy XIV with the game's default poster guy, also known as Derplander. All cutscenes, NPC conversations, battle texts and context, no commentary. Quest timestamps below.
This vid covers Variant Dungeon quest:
00:00 A Key to the Past
--
(Variant Dungeon: Sil'dihn Subterrane)
08:48 (Path 1: Left - Route 2)
20:33 (Path 2: Middle - Route 10)
31:52 (Path 3: Right - Route 5)
41:22 (Path 3: Right - Route 12) (Secret Boss)
--
55:26 (Unlocking Criterion: Another Sil'dihn Subterrane)
57:47 For Coin, Country, and Comrades
(Notes:
Route 12 shown here start from middle of Path3: Right - Route 5 before it (timestamp 35:26)
This vid doesn't show all routes, only certain routes for each paths. These branching routes require player to make various decisions like picking different option/ solve/not solve puzzle/ kill enemies in different order etc, but story flow is mostly the same regardless of routes. So I only show 1 route for each path for brevity
All paths have the same first Boss, but different mechanics for each path
Each path have its own second Boss, with the Right path having a third, secret Boss
The second Boss' mechanics depends on which route the player take. This vid cover all their mechanics from all 4 routes edited together along with all Nanamo's comments and the Boss' speeches
In cutscene where they talk together after finishing dungeon, the flashback scene shown differ depending on which Path player did previously. In this vid I stitch them together so they can be watched all at once
The last quest only unlocked after player had finished the secret route /Route 12, and serve as epilogue of sort
Variant Dungeon have collectable Records that would unlocked after finishing the related Route. These records contain musings from NPC POV that expand the lore and provide hints to unlock other routes. Sil'dihn records are written by Nanamo and can be read here: https://ffxiv.consolegameswiki.com/wi...)

Their numbering of routes is rather confusing ngl. Path Left consist of Route 1-4. Then Path Middle consist of.. route 8-11? Then Path Right going back to Route 5-7.. and 12... Developer y u being like this?? Can't u just number them in order from left to right like normal person?? (At least they do that for Aloalo)
And eventually I did another variant dungeon vid, just for completion sake kek. Tho I play this dungeon before Aloalo, I worked on this after I done editing that one. As a result, like what I said in Aloalo's video description, this one is a lot more trimmed down because editing that Aloalo vid drained me so much lmaocry. Nope, I don't want to do that again. Please accept this more compact, only-showing-what's-necessary version, sorry beforehand. (and I consider showing all 2nd Bosses' mechanics necessary if only because Nanamo's comment "Is...is this a battle or a spot of spring cleaning?" is too good to pass up)
Another note: since I recorded the raw footages before graphic update (and then left them dormant for a long time lol), even tho I wasn't satisfied with some scenes during editing I can't rerecord them because the graphic already changed. I had to make do with what I have, so please forgive some awkward editing and odd scenes around some parts.
Ul'dah lore has been expanded through various sidequest, tho most of them are from ARR era, so pray forgive me when my own memory is failing me regarding which quest... I think Thaumaturge guildmaster the Coco brothers had mentioned about Ul'dah and Amalj'aa working together in the past? Tho I'm not sure if it's from THM class quest or other sidequest. Hildibrand ARR questline also contain some lore about Sil'dih. Other than that, from Temple of Qarn quest maybe? Aaah I really don't remember.. Anyway it's nice to go back to old lore and to know Nanamo's family more. Tho... can we get lore for Kann-e and Gridania too? I started in Gridania btw but it feels it's mostly forgotten compared to Ul'dah and Limsa and their leaders who both got their own arc..
