Dr.HD 500 Combo first look. DVB-S2 + DVB-T2 + 3G/4G amazing meter

Dr.HD 500Combo it is satellite and terrestrial meter and signal finder. It has been announced by Dr.HD company in January 2018 at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Firstly, let's see what's incduded. The device itself, car charger, AC charger. Last, but not least, there is adaptor from F-connector to SMA. It is needed to connect the 3G, 4G, LTE antennas, but about the Cell and Mobile Internet installations we will talk later.

The giftbox says that you need to have Android device to operate the Dr.HD 500 Combo. So, you must have an Android-based phone or tablet. You can download the Android application by scanning QR code.

It is easy to see difference compared to 1000-series models. New meter has no screen, so the Android tablet or smartphone is needed. No wires, we use Bluetooth for connection. The new version now has touch screen operation, it is much smaller and lighter, and all the cool Dr.HD functions are still there. Satellite ID, signal metering, Proof of Performance, Reports. And the awesome real-time spectrum – as always for Dr.HD.

Smartphone’s internet connection and GPS allow us to download fresh transponder lists, etc – but about this functions we will talk a bit later.
