2020 has been a rollercoaster of a year thus far and it is coming to an end, many have felt the wrath of Coronavirus around the world, especially in poverty-stricken countries.
Many have followed guidance by scientists, medical staff, and leading epidemiologists whilst others have protested their freedom as they have exclaimed.
2020 has also not been the year of celebrities either due to controversies and fans as well as members of the public have given them backlash and called for their cancellation altogether.
Here are some top celebrities that the public has attempted to turn into pariah in no particular order.
J.K.Rowling
A billionaire best known for being the author of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts and where to find them books amongst others does not have the power to avoid cancel culture.
She has been accused of being transphobic by making controversial posts on Twitter and was called out by many including celebrities such as Emma Watson.
There was an open letter publicized thereafter which she signed among other public figures endorsing it.
Ellen DeGeneres
Possibly one of the biggest celebrities to face the cancel culture has been Ellen Degeneres for being very rude and arrogant when not in front of the camera.
It all begun when a member of a security stated that she was the worst celebrity he ever had worked with. This led to many voices coming into the public and the media's view of criticizing Ellen DeGeneres for her toxicity and awful environment.
Vanessa Hudgens
The pandemic has caused many avenues to face bankruptcy, people losing their jobs, business going under and main events being canceled to stop the spread of the disease.
When Coachella was not going to happen due to Covid. Vanessa Hudgens decided to post on Instagram the following: "Even if everybody gets it, like yeah, people are going to die, which is terrible... but inevitable?"
People on the internet seeing her post very quickly began to cancel her which with no doubt regretted making the post as later she publicly apologized.
Jimmy Fallon
The host of The Tonight Show who is loved and watched by millions, couldn't avoid the backlash when a video surfaced of him from 2000.
He was doing an impersonation of Chris Rock whilst in blackface on the show Saturday Night Live where he was a cast member.
He apologized on Twitter, where there was a hashtag #jimmyfallonisoverparty which was trending as people decided his time had come and had to be canceled.

The cancel culture reacted en masse towards Shane Dawson where he lost a vast number of his fans and gained many people who hate him for his behavior.
Wendy Williams
Best known for being the host of The Wendy Williams show who has had her own share of controversy on the show and personal life, she has made two very controversial remarks on two separate occasions.
The first was when the host made a comment about the Hollywood actor Joaquin Phoenix and said he was "Oddly attractive".
She made a mockery of the lip with the form of gestures about the actor's cleft lip, which is "an opening or split in the upper lip that occurs when developing facial structures in an unborn baby don't close completely".
Many including, fans and celebrities such as Cher called her out on this which led her to apologize leading to donations that support children and those suffering from the medical condition.
Secondly, Wendy Williams in under a month after her controversial comments about Joaquin Phoenix was in the crosshairs of cancel culture once more.
This time it was due to her homophobic comments during her talk show, making comments as follows: "gay men should stop trying to be the woman that we are. Stop wearing our skirts and our heels.”
This was not tolerated and she was forced to apologize in a video she released later which showed her regret making the remarks.
