Accidental encounter of Indian Chameleon | Chameleon Zeylanicus | रंगबदलू सरडा । गिरगिट | Nature Web

Recently I visited my relatives farmhouse near Sinhagad in Pune; I specifically went there to spot the red-naped ibises nest which were built on Nilgiri tree in the farm. It was afternoon, and Ibises typically gather together in towards evening; so I was roaming in the farm looking out for some butterflies and bugs and to my surprise I saw Indian chameleon in the farm. I had never seen a chameleon in this place; there were lot of cats, hens and crows in the farm hence I gently placed the chameleon on the nearby Ice apple tree, took some of these shots and then he climbed up on coconut tree and disappeared. It was just a sheer luck to witness this beautiful encounter.

मी नुकताच माझ्या मेहुण्याच्या सिंहगड येथील फार्महाउस वर गेलो होतो, तिथल्या निलगिरीच्या झाडावर कांडेसर पक्ष्यांनी ह्यावर्षी घरटी बांधली आहेत, ते बघण्यासाठी. दुपारची वेळ होती आणि कांडेसर पक्षी संध्याकाळी घरट्याजवळ परतणार नाहीत हे माहित असल्याने मी बागेत काही फुलपाखरं आणि किडे बघण्यासाठी फेरफटका मारत होतो. आणि अचानक मला कमेलियन म्हणजेच रंगबदलू सरडा दिसला. मी ह्याआधी ह्या परिसरात कमेलियन/रंगबदलू सरडा कधीही बघितला नव्हता; त्यामुळे थोडा आश्चर्यचकीतच झालो. बागेत काही मांजरं आणि खूप कावळे असल्यामुळे, काही फोटो आणि व्हिडीओ काढून लगेचच त्याला मी अलगद जांबाच्या झाडावर ठेवले, जिथून तो नारळाच्या एका लटकत्या झावळीवर जाऊन नाहीसा झाला.

हा व्हिडीओ शेवट पर्यंत नक्की बघा; शेवटच्या काही क्षणात अतिशय सुंदर दिसणाऱ्या इंडियन कमेलियन म्हणजेच रंग बदलू सरडयाची अतिशय जवळून काढलेली स्लोमोशन मधले व्हिडीओ आणि फोटो तुम्हाला बघायला मिळतील.
