Something Different - Rodeo Photography

We get an evening off after many busy weeks of summer we get a night at our local rodeo. I was at a rodeo a few weeks ago and didn’t have my camera. I thought I really should try photographing what is going on here. So, the next rodeo I brought my camera. The shoot came with challenges but what a nice evening at the county fair.

This kind of photography is very different than what I normally do. I normally set up a wide landscape, carefully focus, verify my aperture is correct, and take the shot. Then I look at it and make adjustments. The high speed requirements of shooting riders and fast moving animals presented many new opportunities for growth. I had to adjust how I do everything.

Would I get any shots?

No matter, what a wonderful night with my wife and daughter.
