Welcome back to MAGNIFICENTLY BLACK!
We're Courtney and Jen explore good vibes . We're so excited to have you join us as we continue our mission to elevate Black excellence. "
Welcome back to MAGNIFICENTLY BLACK.Were we elevate Black Excellence. I am Court and Jen. Today’s episode is all about fatherhood, community, and empowerment. We’re diving into the mission behind a movement: creating a network that uplifts, supports, and empowers dads—especially Black fathers who are rewriting the narrative. Because real talk? Fatherhood isn’t just about showing up. It’s about healing, leading, and building a village where men can thrive—not just survive. We’re joined by the voices behind Dad's Empowerment Network—a platform that’s challenging stigma, encouraging mental wellness, and reminding fathers that they’re never alone on this journey. Whether you're a dad, raising one, or just passionate about strong families and stronger communities—this one’s for you.
“You’re not just raising a child—you’re building a legacy.” That powerful reminder set the tone for one of the most impactful episodes we’ve released to date.
In this week’s Magnificently Black Podcast, we sat down with Wes—also known as Bishop—one of the founders of D.E.N. LLC (Dad’s Empowerment Network). This episode wasn’t just about fatherhood. It was about healing, leadership, and the power of finding your tribe.
🛠️ From Hard Lessons to Healing Legacy: Bishop’s Story
Wes, a proud father, mentor, and community builder, knows what it means to lead by example. His journey into fatherhood came with challenges and a calling far bigger than himself. Out of those life experiences, D.E.N. LLC was born—a network designed to support, uplift, and empower dads, especially Black men, who often carry the weight of the world in silence.
"I didn’t see a village when I needed one—so I built one." — Wes “Bishop”, Founder of D.E.N. LLC
From coaching youth to hosting empowering men’s groups, Bishop has been on a mission to normalize vulnerability and brotherhood in fatherhood spaces.
🤝 Networking, Not Just for Business
One key theme in this episode is the power of networking beyond the hustle. For Wes, networking is about alignment, not just opportunity. It’s about showing up for other fathers, sharing resources, and creating emotional and spiritual safety for men who rarely get to say, "I'm not okay."
"It’s not always about what you do—it’s about who you do life with."
Through D.E.N., Wes has created a space where men can unlearn toxic masculinity, build strong support systems, and develop tools to be present, intentional fathers.
🧬 Finding Your Tribe
We talked about how Black fathers often feel isolated, carrying pressure without the support they need. D.E.N. is the antidote to that loneliness. It’s where fathers build community, heal generational wounds, and learn how to lead with love.
Whether it's through group events, one-on-one mentorship, or virtual check-ins, D.E.N. helps fathers find their tribe—a space to be seen, heard, and held accountable.
🎧 Why You Should Listen
This episode is for: ✅ New dads trying to find their footing ✅ Men healing from their own fathers’ absence ✅ Women who want to better support the fathers in their lives ✅ Anyone committed to building stronger Families
Wes’s story is a reminder that fatherhood is a calling—and it takes a village to walk in it boldly.
