This is a recording that was made to demonstrate what you can do with my four part arrangement of the traditional Irish tune, "The Tenpenny Bit".
There are two harmony parts and a bass line to accompany the melody. You can get the sheet music for all four parts from my website.
This is just one example of how you can use these harmonies and bass line to form your own arrangement.
The harmony parts can be used by duets, trios and larger groups. All the harmony parts come in three different clefs (treble, alto and bass) so there are lots of options for different ensembles.
The sheet music is available from my website:
http://www.folkarrangements.co.uk – and there lots of other tunes arranged in the same way too.

Here's what happens in the arrangement in the video (which you can use a guide for your own group, or you can make up your own version):
First you can hear the melody (on mandolin and banjo) and the lower harmony part (on viola), plus some chords and a bass part played on a piano.
In the second time through the tune, the bass line carries on in the piano.
The lower harmony part drops out, and you can hear a high harmony part played on a violin, along with the melody.
In the third time through the tune, you can now hear the melody and the two harmony parts on violin and viola. The bass line and chords continue in the piano, so all four parts are playing together.
