DIY Chess Board | How to Make a Chess Board

In this video I am making a simple chess board.

This time, I'm creating a basic chess board out of Walnut and Beech wood. I start by cutting the wood into thick strips, knowing I'll thin them out later with a planer. After gluing the strips side by side, I crosscut the board on a table saw sled making new wooden strips. Then, I plane each strip to the desired thickness and glue them back together. Once assembled, I smooth the board with and orbital sander sandpaper, attach small wooden legs, and finish it off with a coat of oil.
