Some late-afternoon / early evening videos filmed at this level crossing in Brockenhurst, a moderately-large village right in the middle of the beautiful New Forest National Park. The level crossing is located on the main north to south road through the National Park, connecting the A31 / M27 with a Ferry over to the Isle of Wight between Lymington and Yarmouth, and the railway between here and Totton snakes about quite a lot, though you'd imagine finding any path for a railway through a national park like this would be a far more difficult task met with even more objection today. The level crossing has narrow footways over it, supporter-arm barriers, two alarms which have unusual 'hoods', and it is controlled from the functional-looking signal box which overlooks it. This is on the fairly busy South West Main Line, used by all trains to/from Bournemouth, Poole, and beyond into Dorset towards Weymouth. South Western Railway and Cross Country feature in these videos.
