Prof. Sebastian Brock, Faculty of Oriental Studies (retired), University of Oxford and Professorial Fellow at Wolfson College. Prof. Brock is a leading scholar of Syriac language and author of numerous books and articles on Syriac studies, including From Ephrem to Romanos: Interactions between Syriac and Greek in Late Antiquity(1999); *Fire from Heaven: Studies in Syriac Theology and Liturgy (2006); The Wisdom of Isaac of Nineveh (2006); An Introduction to Syriac Studies (2006) and many others.
This lecture was part of the Eastern Christianity Lecture Seminar Series (7th edition, Trinity Term, 2019) convened by Dr. Hratch Tchilingirian and Prof. Theo Maarten van Lint at Pembroke College, Oxford and supported by Oxford Armenian Studies.
