Did you know 73,929 Indian soldiers lost their lives during the First World War? Indians were the first to be dropped in the war zone on behalf of Britain when German advancement happened in Belgium. Ypres, in Flanders, in Belgium is sombre aftermath of the several battles. Several hundreds of Indian soldiers died in just Ypres itself.
