Handle it: Partial Solar Eclipse at 29° Virgo 🌾 9/21 - 10/6/25

In case it wasn't strikingly apparent: we are in eclipse season! Eclipse season is often characterized as a period of sudden developments, rapid changes and oscillations between fatigue and overwhelm as the world dramatically disorders. It often feels as though the car is moving quickly, but we are not at all in the driver's seat; the hands of fate work deftly to alter course in the lives of human beings - both individually and collectively.

This week, a partial solar eclipse at 29° Virgo (in opposition to Saturn at 28° Pisces) rock our world. While all eclipses threaten intensity and instability, this particular eclipse carries even more agitation with its occurrence at the anaretic degree of the sign. The final degree of every sign implies endings, terminations and "cutting" - a term referenced by ancient astrologers which means "life-threatening." With this eclipse aligning with Kirk's Venus, this eclipse has proved to be literal. Yet, more than likely, this degree will emerge metaphorically in our lives. Give it some time to unfold, but think about what is ending in the Virgo sector of your chart (it may involve your Pisces or Leo houses too).

Beyond, 29­° also implies urgency. It may feel like the sky is about to fall (even if it doesn't intend to). The pressure of time is upon us. Think about your own Saturn in Pisces story which began in March 2023. What were the hard lessons and difficult choices? Through time, effort and prioritization, what have you gained here? This eclipse may imply that there is still something more here to tend to - and quickly! Before time runs out!

This eclipse will likely impact Mercurial figures (reporters, writers, comedians, teachers, delivery drivers, mail carriers, media, the information we share and technology) as well as Saturnian figures (farmers, seafarers, immigrants, refugees, the unhoused, the elderly, the wise, the ruling elite and the poor).

From this eclipse, we also explore Mars's shift into passionate Scorpio, Mars's volatile square with Pluto, Venus' alignment on the south node and a diplomatic square between Mercury and Jupiter.
