Eastland mall opened on Valentines Day, 1968, and closed on December 27th, 2022.
The four anchor stores that once occupied the mall were Lazarus, JCPenney, Sears, and Macy’s. Throughout the mall’s life, it was able to operate without any anchor stores, dependent on the many small businesses that kept a steady flow of tenants and customers to stay afloat. However, Eastland’s momentary success would soon be overcome by its fate.
