The Achtung Baby 30th Anniversary Cover Project | U2 Tribute Fan Movie

We wish a Happy 31th Birthday to the Achtung Baby record today!

How important this record is for all of us, well, you can see it in this more than 1-hour-long video.

You will see and hopefully appreciate almost 2 years of continuous work in this video, which we made between January 2021 and October 2022.
According to our original idea, between January and December 2021, we wanted to process one Achtung Baby song every month and make it public on YouTube.
Of course, there are 12 songs on the album, and that would have been perfect for the 12 months in the year.

Unfortunately, our ideas turned out differently, so we had to interrupt our work for a short time, but we definitely wanted to finish this project at some point.
Although with some delay, we are very happy to now have it finished by the end of October 2022.

And what you can see here, well, that was also part of the original idea.
On 18th of November, 2021, the 30th birthday of the Achtung Baby record, we wanted to post a video on Youtube that is all the Achtung Baby songs presents its processing in an album-like manner.

This "final video" was therefore put together for the record's 31st birthday, and we are all very satisfied with it. We put a lot of energy into it, but we really enjoyed every moment, and we tried to create better and enhanced images and sound from video to video, as we had new and new ideas with each processing. We are all very proud of what is seen and heard here.

Thanks to a special technology (called isolation), Bono's original vocals were extracted from the version of a live U2 track in such a way that we could use it for our own covers.

Maybe many people will condemn us because, so to speak we "stole" Bono's voice. Well, no. We didn't steal. We just borrowed it. We have never, anywhere, received a warning from anyone that we would have done something against the law. You know, it's very difficult to find a singer who properly able to reproduce Bono's vocal tone, and we didn't want to create a negative result with a vocal that didn't fit here. Maybe that's why we decided on Bono. In retrospect, we are very grateful that this could happen so that we can pay a special homage and tribute to the legend that is Bono.

Our basic idea was to play the live versions of the songs from the album under studio conditions. It would have been too obvious to play the Achtung Baby record one by one. If you want to listen to this, pick up the original masterpiece! :) There are of course exceptions here as well, such as “So Cruel” where understandable for reasons we stuck to the album version.

So please watch and listen with much love to the result of this great project, where we all express our admiration and respect for U2 and the Achtung Baby record together.
