Marküs Bayildi is perfect comfort food. It was created by Elif Oskan for her restaurant Gül and she named it after her partner Markus, since he loves the dish so much. I always order this when I'm in Gül and I'm so thankful to Elif for including the recipe in her cookbook. This Turkish dish has everything, great comfort food needs, it's fatty, sweet, salty, sour, has a bit of heat and umami, all packed into one super dish, I just love it!
