Spring Boot applications provide rich abstractions for working with various property sources to configure your applications. Most applications will only read their configuration at startup and require restarts to pick up any changes. However, it doesn’t have to be this way! In this session Joris will cover Spring’s support to dynamically pick up changes in external configuration, so that you don’t need restarts anymore.
Things you will learn include:
what can be updated dynamically (e.g. log config, ConfigurationProperties and @RefreshScope-annotated beans)
what mechanisms exist to trigger a reload of configuration
what property sources provide support for automatic change detection
things to take into consideration when applying this in your own applications
