How Bell Peppers are Packed in California

This video demonstrates how bell peppers are packed in California. This video shows all of the steps of what happens to bell peppers after harvest and before reaching the distribution center/grocery store.

The bell pepper packing process is as follows: bell peppers are dry dumped onto the packing line, hand sorted based on quality and then the product destined for the primary market is hand packed, while the product for the secondary market is machine packed. All product is then transported to the cooler until it is shipped. This video was taken at Uesugi Farms in Gilroy, California.
