Mythical Scilla is named after a beautiful Greek nymph who angered the jealous witch Circe and consequently was transformed into a monstrous half fish, half woman with six dog heads who forever after terrorized sailors approaching the strait. The neighboring Chianalea sits almost in the water and is a cute, tiny village. We felt this area would be a good base for some day trips, so we stayed at the hospitable B&B Sunshine here for 3 nights.
