I like to perform up-to-standard the projects I started. I am happy that these songs are largely to my enjoyment.
Almost all songs are learned and played within the range of this year. I spend an average of about 20 minutes or less to practice and/or record every day to achieve these results. My main activity is still studying, so piano playing helps relax and rewire, a motor skill memory intensive thing to do. I treat the music provided by these famous composers as a canvas to pour forth my soul, and because I don't treat music as an intellectual license or to be fearful of what other people think of my music, I think that is why I could perform up to a certain standard. As the saying goes, if one truly enjoys the music one produces, then others will naturally gravitate to it as well.
It would be nice that the Royal Conservatory of Music provide a lesson in their History exams about corrupt interferences, and the factors that affect musician's ability to perform.. but that would mean some internal auditing about the phenomenon of "pianists racked with facial intoxication" over authentic music oriented performances. Judges already made pacts with teachers whose students would be awarded as long as they show up and perform. There are so many strings attached, and that's not just my experience but many others.
In looking at the rawness, emotional depth, and the communication of the soul in Richter's performances, there were a lot of artificial coughing to divert his attention because some did not agree with his closet behavior. The fact that he was able to command beyond expectations means he's above his contemporaries. I'd personally rank Richter above Liszt in view of the history of piano performers.
I've been listening to Sviatoslav Richter performances for a long time.. whatever my style is, it is an attempt to copy his. I absolutely love his Bach and Beethoven. I call his performances home, because I attend to every little detail and program my archetypal material into his music everyday since 2017.
