“Van Life Norway: ILLEGAL STEALTH CAMP, Risky Park-Up & Epic Steak Dinner”

We’re deep into van life in Norway, and tonight we’re trying something we’ve never done before — a true illegal stealth camp.

We pull into a beautiful coastal park-up, only to find a “No Camping Between 00–06” sign. It's technically illegal to stay, but I decide to take the risk and find out what happens. It’s a risky park-up, but that's part of the stealth life.

While waiting to see if we’ll get moved on, I cook an epic steak dinner inside the van — one of the best meals I’ve made on the road. And we’re not alone — our poodle is back with us for another stretch of the journey.

As golden hour sets in, we walk to the beach to soak in the view, capturing some cinematic west coast Norway shots. Just as things calm down, a couple of locals in rooftop tents arrive, putting our stealth camp in jeopardy.

The next morning, we head off early to get our gearbox checked at the mechanic — it’s recently been replaced, and we’re not convinced it’s fixed. From Stavanger to Rosendal, we take you along on one of Norway’s most scenic routes.
