In this video, we visit the Jaro Metropolitan Cathedral (National Shrine of Our Lady of Candles) to see the famous image of the Candelaria—the only Marian image in Asia crowned by Pope John Paul II.
We then cross the street to the Jaro Plaza to stand beneath the massive Jaro Belfry (Campanario de Jaro). Usually, bell towers are attached to the church, but here in Jaro, they are separated. Let’s find out why as we enjoy the peaceful night lights of the plaza.
