Trying out Paul Rubens watercolours | painting a sunset

I was given a box of Paul Rubens neon watercolours and thought it would be great to do a video while I was trying them out for the first time. The neon colours were not a palette I would usually paint with - but I had great fun trying them out in this sunset scene!

The neon colours are also paintable onto black card and paper which is something I will try when out sketching. They have a very high pigment strength which I think would suit artists who enjoy painting bright paintings of flowers.

I should stress that I am not a watercolour artist - there are many amazing artists who use watercolours way better than I do, and you can find them some of them here on YouTube.

In my opinion, the Paul Rubens watercolours I used performed very well. The pigments were strong and left some grainy effects which I liked. It was also easy to wash over several layers without going too muddy.
