This is one of my favorite songs from the past year. There's just something about it that is so comforting. There's so much love put in this song and I found myself so touched by it. The singing and lyrics are so beautiful. I've always wanted to cover this song, so I'm glad to finally be able to!
Haha, the instrumental I used isn't exactly in the tuning that I use, so I was really stumped with intonation. I found I had to make everything flatter than usual and avoid using open strings with this one. Looking back, maybe I could have just tuned down my viola lol. It was difficult recording the audio, but after listening to it while mixing and doing the video lipsync, I think the lower key changes the timbre of my viola for the better and fits the vibe more.
