Freddo the Rottweiler tjoins the pack off leash, happy birthday Minnie the Cocker Spaniel

Today was a very big milestone in Freddo’s training and progress. Today Freddo joined the Wednesday’s pack off lead.

He’s been working extremely hard now for about 2.5 months in training, hundreds of hours of formal training.

He started out as a dog that couldn’t be socialised with other dogs, he was reactive even around a water bowl, let alone around food which would end up in full blown fights. He’d been surrendered so many times, he not only didn’t trust humans he’d use his teeth to get his way.

From a behavioural perspective it is no wonder why people were not coming forward to adopt Freddo.

But with training that is especially successful with dogs like Freddo, the layers that he has built up to protect himself (because no one else has done the job of protecting him before), have been peeled away.

And what’s underneath is just simply the real Freddo. A big puppy like boy that just wants to play and be loved. It is that simple.

Today he gave us every confidence that Freddo is perfectly responsive and his issues are no longer issues.

Freddo is a farm dog and we couldn’t be happier for him. And proud too, we love you Freddo.

We also celebrated Minnie the Cocker Spaniel’s 2nd birthday! Happiest of birthdays to our dear friend Minnie! A week belated, last week was torrential rain and we just couldn’t find the break in the weather. But the weather was perfect today and Minnie loved sharing her yummy birthday chicken cake with all her mates!
