A while back we did a review video on the set of Metzeler 6 Days Extreme enduro tires that we really like. In that YouTube video we got a comment from a viewer recommending the Michelin Enduro Medium tire which is Michelins equivalent to the Metzeler tire in that it has the same tread pattern but with a different rubber compound. In the interest of not being too narrow minded we decided to give the Michelin Enduro Medium tire a try. We ended up with the Michelin Enduro Medium and Michelin Enduro Extreme tire by accident which is Michelins gummy version of the same tire. We ran these tires on a KTM 300 xcw two stroke and a KTM 500 exc-f four stroke bike. The initial gummy tire got worn out very quick by the tricked out four stroke so we put the Michelin Enduro Medium tire on which held up much better.

It's important to note that we are riding in Southern California where we have mountains, desert, sand, rocks, mud and just about everything else. For the most part the terrain is dry and hard for nine months out of the year. We ride primarily enduro trails and some EnduroCross track riding so naturally we prefer an enduro style tire and the tread pattern on this particular tire is amazing. There are slight differences between the Michelin and the Metzeler in terms of tread pattern but from a riding perspective you can't tell the difference. Where you do see a big difference is in how the tire wears due to the rubber compound. The Michelin Enduro Medium tire has a softer compound than the Metzeler and as a result it tends to hook up on smooth surfaces better. The Michelin also doesn't chunk out as much as the Metzeler does unless we are talking about the gummy tire on the KTM 500 in which case the knobs get ripped clean off.

We really like these Michelin Enduro Medium tires and will continue to run them in the future. We'd definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for a great, durable performance enduro tire.
