I saw a few versions that replaced the screw in strainer cap but, mine is not screw in and also thought that would get in the way of cleaning the strainer screen. I also saw amore pricey solution that mirrors this solution and made very well. All these parts are Bronze and is an inexpensive solution. I also saw some plastic solutions but, plastic could crack, and this is installed typically below the water line. I am not willing to take that chance of sinking my boat should it crack or worse break.
