Photo 1: two soldiers of the kuk army rest on a self-made snack table inside their trench system and read the newspaper. The walls of the trench are secured with elaborately woven willow branches.
Photo 2: An infantry platoon of the kuk army lined up for a group photo. In addition to the field equipment and weapons with which the soldiers here are equipped for the cold season, with their overcoats as the top item of clothing, the rarely depicted muffs for warming the hands are worthy of note.
Photo 3: A 30.5 cm heavy mortar produced by the Skoda works in Pilsen and its crew in action on the Eastern Front
