CRACKERS ABOUT ANTI-PESTO – An arrangement of the score to Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit, composed by Julian Nott, Rupert Gregson-Williams, James Michael Dooley, Lorne Balfe, Alastair King, and produced by Hans Zimmer.
Just in time for Vengeance Most Fowl, this Wallace & Gromit music suite-o-matic allows us to focus on and appreciate the fun and adventurous theme for the Anti-Pesto critter control agency that Julian Nott wrote for The Curse of the Were-Rabbit! It seeks to gather many of the theme's statements from the soundtrack album in a cohesive experience.
There's a breezy sense of action and magnificent pomp to this theme for a couple of rabbit catchers, incorporating a militaristic tone of immediacy that comically contrasts with the truly low stakes of the whole affair. But the theme also perfectly captures the thrill of racing down West Wallaby Street in the Anti-Pesto van to confront any threats to veggie safety.
The more march-like aspect of the Anti-Pesto material is also accompanied by a swooping, somewhat patriotic anthem harkening to Barry Gray's Thunderbirds music.
A few other motifs appear during this arrangement, most notably the classic Wallace & Gromit theme in different variations, as well as themes for the were-rabbit and the precious veggies Anti-Pesto is sworn to protect.
This edited suite arrangement includes the following tracks, in order:
Anti-Pesto To The Rescue; A Stronger Cage For Hutch; Thanks, Lad; Fire Up The Bun-Vac; Gromit's Escape; A Big Trap; Kiss My Arrrtichoke; Pre-Dogfight; Dogfight; Kiss My Arrrtichoke; Dogfight; Gromit's Escape; Dogfight.
