Test Track first officially opened for guests in 1999, taking over for EPCOT’s World of Motion. Since its initial opening, Test Track has gone through different iterations. In 2012, the ride reopened as “Test Track 2.0,” sponsored by Chevrolet instead of General Motors. The new version of the ride invited guests to build their own Sim-Car, which they could then put through testing (with the results displayed at the end).

In September 2023, Disney shared that they would once again be reimaging the ride, this time with inspiration from the original World of Motion attraction. We’re sharing everything you need to know about the upcoming reimagined Test Track, a.k.a. Test Track 3.0.

What’s New on Test Track 3.0 sponsored by General Motors?
The newest version of Test Track will have its grand opening on July 22, 2025. We were able to get a first preview of the ride, and we’re sharing everything you need to know!
The Queue
The first bit of newness you’ll notice on the reimagined Test Track happens in the queue. The queue has been completely redesigned, removing the build-your-own-care experience from the previous iteration. Now, guests walk through a few different rooms, taking you through the past, present, and future of vehicles.
