For a few nights at my local creek, I witnessed an incredible bug hatch — white flies (mayflies), sulfurs, cahills, midges, caddis, tricos, and more all coming off at once. The fish were picky, as holdover browns usually are, but I still managed to get into a few nice trout.
That’s fly fishing in the fall — tricky conditions, lots of bugs, but rewarding when you finally figure it out. 🍂🐟
