No birth no death no caste have I
Father, mother, have I none
I am He, I am He, blessed Spirit I am He.
Mind, nor intellect , nor ego chittwa
Sky, nor earth, nor metals am I
I am He, I am He, blessed Spirit I am He.
This is a powerful chant which helps the devotee remember his true eternal nature in Spirit. It affirms that even though we live in God's world of changes, we can meditate on the omnipresent, ever new joy of the Divine, and gain security from His blessed peace. Whether young or old, entering or leaving this earthly stage, may we all remain anchored in Him. "Mind, nor intellect, nor ego, chitta" are references to elements of the mortal consciousness. The chant calls us to lift our lower thoughts and feelings into a purified consciousness in Spirit. The images shown reflect the Divine as the dove of Christ, as Teachers such as Paramahansaji, Buddha, and Shankara, as the Light of the sky, and as Indian deities.
