Esiste una comunità italiana a Cork, in Irlanda.
Una comunità piccola, giovane, ma in forte crescita.
Sono molti, infatti, gli italiani che negli ultimi anni hanno trovato la loro dimensione lungo le sponde del fiume Lee.

“Gli italiani del fiume Lee” racconta 5 storie, tutte diverse ma in qualche modo connesse fra loro.
Storie di chi diventa imprenditore, come quella di Dario e Marco e di quel pezzettino di Sicilia in Irlanda che risponde al nome di Sicilian Delights.
O come quella di Simone, che esporta la nostra cultura vinicola e diventa Head Sommelier dell’Hayfield Manor, un elegante hotel a 5 stelle.
Daniele tramanda e insegna l’arte della pizza italiana da Burnt e diventa in breve tempo un’icona del Black Market.
Maddalena arriva a Cork con due borsoni e fa carriera nel mondo della tecnologia, diventando fonte d’ispirazione per tutte le donne che vogliono fare un percorso simile.
E ci sono anche Peppe e Lara, due genitori che decidono di mollare tutto e ripartire da Cork, per poi spostarsi a Limerick.

Ma com’è il rapporto con l’Irlanda e con gli irlandesi? Come si vive a Cork?
E ci manca mai l’Italia?

There is an Italian community in Cork, Ireland.
A small, young but rapidly growing community.
Over the last couple of years, many Italians have found their dimension along the banks of the River Lee.

“The Italians of the River Lee” tells 5 stories, all different but connected, somehow.
Stories of those who become entrepreneurs, like that of Dario and Marco and that little piece of Sicily in Ireland that is called Sicilian Delights.
Or Simone's story, who exports our wine culture being the Head Sommelier at Hayfield Manor, an elegant 5-star hotel.
Daniele teaches and preserves the art of Italian pizza at Burnt and quickly became an icon of the Black Market.
Maddalena arrived in Cork with two bags of clothes to create an amazing career in the world of technology, becoming a source of inspiration for all women who want to follow a similar path.
And there are also Peppe and Lara, two parents who decide to leave everything behind and start anew from Cork, before moving permanently to Limerick.

But how is their relationship with Ireland and the Irish people? Is life in Cork good?
And do they ever miss Italy?
