Worried about your walk post-surgery? You're not alone. But here's the truth most patients need to hear.
Muscles are weak in the early stage. The body naturally protects the operated joint. Walking feels different because the joint has changed — and your muscles need time and training to catch up.
It starts with a walker, then a stick, then walking on your own. That limp? Often just a phase.
If you're not in pain and you're still early in recovery, it’s usually not a concern.
But — if limping continues and pain increases later on, consult your doctor. Gait training and physiotherapy are key to retraining your limbs and correcting walking patterns.
Not all limping means something’s wrong.
Most of the time, it's just your body learning to walk right again.
