Interview with record producer Sir George Martin where he reflects on his life before the Beatles as well with them and after. He reveals how he got started at EMI and why he asked the Beatles to come down to London from Liverpool to Abbey Road Studios. Sir George Martin was more than just a record producer, he composed music, he conducted music, was a musician himself and an arranger of music. Commonly known now as the fifth Beatle he takes us through his record choices on the island. This is an edited version of the interview with added music to illustrate the discussion. I have been unable to use any original Beatles material due to rights reasons. However this does not distract from a great interview with Sue lawley with a man who helped provide the soundtrack to people's lives over the years. Please leave comments if you so wish.
