D’Aria’s agricultural roots go back over three centuries to the early years of wheat, sheep, wine and vegetable farming in the rural hamlet of Pampoenkraal.
The vineyards are situated at the back of the Tygerberg Hills, mainly in north-facing and east-facing rows.
Ancient, shale-derived, deep and well-drained mainly Hutton and Clovelly soils capture and retain water well into the summer, creating just the right balance between moisture and stress for the vine to naturally produce healthy, flavourful fruit.
Warmer north-facing slopes are under classical red varieties cabernet sauvignon, merlot and shiraz; cool east-facing aspects under noble sauvignon blanc and viognier.
The D’Aria winery, is a study in simple sophistication.
D’Aria wines are guided in the growing and the making by ‘the muse’. Resplendent on each bottle of wine, this youthful, joyful, free-spirited character, flamboyant in flowing cape and feathered hat, playing a flute whose melody entices a bird to follow in flight, embodies the philosophy espoused in the brand’s name.

Some of their wines even have braille on the bottles (another sense) and many of their wines have been named with music in mind. The songbird, soprano, lullaby and even pop and rock music. Come see if you can experience the music in their wines.

The restaurant has a modern European/Grill menu which pairs perfectly with the area’s famous crisp sauvignon blancs and juicy reds.
