Writing a Batman plot without examining Batman as a character.
The basic formula to take away from the key observations presented in part 1 is, if your doing a villain origin story, give your villain a key trait and have the villain’s key trait motivate the villain’s mishap and vow; have Batman uncover the vow though the use of some element of the city – whether it be with the help of a partner/the police, by investigating how villain’s actions interfere with the city, or by some other method. Finally, have Batman confront the villain and their vow. Excluding the twist on the formula, this structure satisfies all the key observations; however, it isn’t the only way to utilize the key observations. That being said, a lot of Batman writing in and outside of Batman: The Animated Series uses this basic formula.
