Once the payment is processed, you can start monitoring for biometrics and interview slots, which appear suddenly.So you need to check frequently but carefully, because opening the site too often can lock your account. When your dates are confirmed, you go for biometrics with your passport, DS-160 confirmation, and appointment letter. For the main interview, you carry all essential papers: passport, DS-2019, DS-160 confirmation, MRV receipt, I-901, marriage certificate for J2, appointment letter, and proof of funds. After the interview, the officer will inform you if your visa is approved, denied, or placed under 221(g) (administrative processing), which you can track online. Finally, you just wait for the SMS or email saying your passport is ready for pick-up or home delivery and that’s when you get your passport back with your US visa stamped.
