About the speaker: Datuk Dr Syed Ali Tawfik Al-Attas, was a former Director-General of the Institute of Islamic Understanding Malaysia (IKIM) at the appointment of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, and subsequently worked in the corporate sector for some years. He earned his PhD from the International Institute of Islamic Thought and Civilization (ISTAC). He has published several academic works, and has written many articles and delivered lectures on a wide range of subjects at various venues both locally and internationally. In addition, he has been appointed a member of a number of advisory boards in Malaysia.
