Bridging Climate Divides with Eamon Ryan at Sciences Po

Eamon Ryan, former Irish Minister for the Environment and a global pioneer in green politics, was at Sciences Po for an insightful conversation on "Bridging the 3 Main Climate Divides."

A long-standing advocate for climate action, Eamon Ryan explored the urgent need to align ecological, economic, and social priorities in the face of the climate emergency. Drawing on his decades of experience - from championing renewable energy and public transport to steering Ireland’s green transition - he reminded us that climate policy is not just technical, but fundamentally human.

He shared with our students his vision, leadership, and the critical reminder that climate action is a bridge we must build—together: “The best defense strategy for Europe is to divest from fossil fuels.”

His visit comes at a pivotal moment for Sciences Po, as we deepen our commitment to environmental transformation—with the launch of the Institute for Environmental Transformation in 2023, and the ambition to create a School for the Climate.
