We strive to have a straightforward and helpful deal for all of our artists. It’s a tricky time to be releasing music, and we’re aiming to build a community of artists who are passionate about sharing their music with the world.
We believe that releasing music is not just about one album, but many! One album is just one piece on an artist's journey - only one piece of the puzzle.
OiM and our imprints are positioned to help artists at different career points, make the most of each project that they seek to share with the world!
The Big Questions:
All OiM Artists retain ownership of their publishing, masters, and copyrights.
Our agreement allows OiM to distribute your music digitally and physically, worldwide.
Artist Focused Royalty Splits; Royalties are paid quarterly.
Artists cover all printing costs, price ranges depending on package design, quantity, and variable shipping rates (we recommend 4 panel eco-wallets, minimum).
All Releases are required to utilize a publicity campaign. The artist may choose to bring on their own team or use our in-house publicity team.
Timeline: we require physical copies in hand four months prior to release date. This should give you an idea of soonest possible release dates.

What is Next Level?

Next Level is an imprint of Outside in Music that focuses on creating a release strategy that empowers early career artists to get the most value out of their album launch. NL focuses on guiding and educating the artist throughout the release process.
NL utilizes the same physical and digital distributors as OiM, the same team, and the release service is the same. Having multiple imprints allows us to connect more artists with the industry, and their fans (like OKeh records as a part of Sony).

Why did we add Next Level to the OiM Family?

We decided to launch Next Level to be able to empower artists by guiding/educating them through the release process, and by creating an affordable way for them to introduce their music to the jazz industry at large with our in-house publicity campaigns. Many labels won't take risks with putting out early career musicians albums, and if they do there is little transparency about the process, finances, etc. It can be a very costly endeavor to release music, especially on the terms of some labels. We strive to provide cost-effectiveness, and transparency.

How does releasing on Next Level differ from OiM?

It is a label focused specifically on early-career musicians, that we can present to the industry in a professional, affordable, well-assembled package.
