First lady Monica Geingos said she been "slut-shamed" on social media.
She said this as part of her message to celebrate International Women’s Day with a message to #ChooseToChallenge the narratives that have been spewed against her during her rise as an entrepreneur and wife to the first citizen.
“It makes absolute sense to challenge any gender bias, as change does not come without challenge,” she said, while adding that she chooses to challenge gendered insults because they aim to reduce women into the societal box of expectation.
