Cytotoxic T cells
Killer T cells, CD8+ T-cell

A type of T cell that expresses the CD8 surface marker. Recognizes foreign antigens presented on MHC-I receptors and subsequently triggers apoptosis or cell lysis of the presenting (infected) cell.
