After spending the first two months of his life in a neonatal intensive care unit, Nathaniel was released into state foster care to wait for his forever family. After raising seven children, Rich and Kim felt led to adopt with a specific interest in special needs boys. Multiple professionals knowing of Nathaniel and the Rankin family suggested they belonged together. Nathaniel came home in July, 2013 and his adoption was finalized in February, 2014.
Nathaniel is a medically complex infant with a tracheotomy due to a laryngeal web and subglottic stenosis. He is fed entirely by g-tube and is working to overcome his developmental delays. His story can be followed on www.catchingfoxes.com.
