On September the 3rd 1939, Britain declared war on Germany following Hitler's invasion of Poland. Immediately after Neville Chamberlain's famous 'deceleration of war' announcement, the BBC transmitted a terrifying announcement. A series of instructions were given to the public on air raid precautions due to the threat of air attack on British civilians. Instructions include the closure of all entertainment venues, staying at home and to carry your gas mask with you at all times.
