Camino Lebaniego y el Camino Vadiniense, segun Gronze estos dos Caminos son los más difíciles de todos los caminos en España pero sorpréndemente los mas hermosos y espectaculares. Camino Lebaniego y el Camino Vadiniense bordea los majestuosos Picos de Europa, Horcada de Valcavao 1794 mts es el punto más alto de todos los caminos en la cordillera. En Fuente De 1090 mts confrontado por El Murallón se puede tomar el cable que te lleva a una plataforma aerea 1850 mts dónde se pueden observar unas vistas impresionantes. Las montañas de los Picos de Europa son fácilmente accesibles desde este punto. El Camino Lebaniego y el Camino Vadiniense comienza en San Vicente de la Barquera y termina en Leon.
The Camino Lebaniego & Camino Vadiniense, according to Gronze these Caminos are the hardest of all the Caminos in Spain but strikingly the most beautiful. Horcada de Valcavao at 1794 mts is the highest point of any Camino as it skirts the majestic Picos de Europa mountain range and at Fuente De 1090 mts it gives you access to the Picos through a cable car that lifts you up to top station viewing platform at 1850 mts. The peaks of the Picos de Europa are easily accessible from here.
Camino Lebaniego from San Vicente de la Barquera (Camino del Norte) on the northern Cantabrian coastline where pilgrims followed the red arrows to the Monasterio de Liebana. The jewel is the Lignum Crucis allegedly the largest known remnant of the cross of Christ. Camino Lebaniego lenth varies if you discard the monotonous asphalt & follow the Senda Fluvial del Rio Nansa from Munorrodero to Cades, adds 10 kms but well worth it following the path upstream of the river Nansa. All up 65 kms to the Monastery of Liebana.
Camino Vadiniense from Potes to Mansilla las Mulas to join the Camino Frances then to Leon roughly 175 kms. The red arrows give way at the Monastery & its back to the yellow arrows again. Facilities are few and far between in both Caminos & careful planning is required for every stage. Most villages are small & without any amenities although fountains fed by mountain streams abound. Because of all the above very few people walk the Camino Lebaniego-Camino Vadinense which is a shame given all its magnificent beauty so if you are prepared to walk in solitude & soak in awe inspiring vista after vista then the Camino Lebaniego-Camino Vadiniense might be for you.
