So this is NOT the Sahara desert
This is NOT the Kalahari desert
Yes this is Europe and yes this is a desert in Europe, this is….. GRAND DUNE DU PILAT or English it’s referred as The Dune of Pilat
Located in south-west France not far from the French city of Bordeaux
The dune is surrounded by forest on 3/4 sides and the other part is the sea from the Arcachon Bay
When visiting you will want to arrive early as this place gets over 2 million visitors a year, so like other attractions in France, once the day gets on the crowds swarm. I was there around 8am and left a bit after 1030 and it was starting to get well busy then with people streaming in. So the earlier the better atleast if you prefer you desert more deserted than packed 😂
