In this video you will understand what is metric space.

Let X be an non empty set .The function
d:X×X ⟶R is said to a matric defined on the set X if it satisfies the following conditions-
i) If d(x,y) greater than equal to 0
ii)d(x,y)=0 if and only if x=y
iii)d(x,y)=d(y,x) it is called symmetric property
iv) d(x,y) less than equal to d(x,z)+d(z,y)
it is called triangular inequality.
