"Chappie (2015): Chappie's First Carjacking Lesson"

In this darkly comedic scene from Chappie (2015), the newly sentient robot Chappie, adorned with a flashy gold chain and a customized, street-inspired exterior, is being schooled in "gangster life" by his mentor, Ninja (Watkin Tudor Jones). Ninja deceitfully points out a luxury car, claiming its owner has wronged him, and instructs Chappie to "teach" the person a lesson by reclaiming the vehicle. Trusting his mentor, Chappie approaches the unsuspecting driver with awkward yet earnest intimidation, wielding his metal arms and attempting to emulate a menacing demeanor. His stiff facial components, however, render his expressions more humorous than threatening.​

The bewildered driver, confronted by this unconventional "carjacker," is initially paralyzed with shock. Misinterpreting the driver's fear as compliance, Chappie continues his clumsy intimidation, counting down, "One, two... why aren't you running?" Eventually, the driver flees in panic, leaving Chappie to proudly return the car to Ninja. Instead of praise, Ninja sarcastically remarks on Chappie's polite countdown during the carjacking, highlighting the robot's naivety in his criminal education.​
